Over 20 years, the area has been renovated, developed and transformed into a popular guest harbour and excursion destination. Lake Mälaren
A PRICELESS TREASURE
Lake Mälaren is Sweden's third largest lake with over 8,000 islands, islets and skerries. It is an area known for its culture, outdoor activities and boating. But Mälaren is more unique than that. It is Sweden's largest water source, supplying more than 2 million people with their daily drinking water. Every second, 8 cubic metres of drinking water are taken from the lake. This is made possible by shallow groundwater flowing in from streams and rivers, where it is supplied with beneficial salts such as calcium, potassium and magnesium. 8 large pebble ridges also pass beneath Lake Mälaren, whose combined groundwater interacts with the lake to create this freshwater treasure! In other words, taking a cooling dip in Lake Mälaren is something as unique as indirectly bathing in drinking water.
Jungfrusund
BETWEEN DROTTINGHOLM & BIRKA
Season Hotel is being built on the marina in Jungfrusund, located on the eastern part of Ekerö outside Stockholm. As an old outpost in the middle of the inlet to Stockholm, we are the hub of cultural tourism on Lake Mälaren - right between the world heritage sites of Drottningholm and the Viking island of Birka. Here in the guest harbour there are restaurants, boats, shops and a wide range of activities both on land and in the water.
Within walking distance there is a ski slope (!), Ekebyhov Castle with its unique apple orchard and, not least, the nature-protected Jungfrusundsåsen outdoor area. With a short car or bus ride you can reach 3 golf courses and also a disc golf course.
And we haven't even mentioned Ekerö's fantastic nature where you will find Sweden's largest and oldest oak trees.
